This Cookie Policy is drafted in accordance with Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) Cookie Guide, 2023 edition. It explains every cookie and equivalent storage technology used by Fair Divider, including what is stored on your device, why, and for how long.
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device to recognize it on subsequent visits. The same legal regime applies to equivalent technologies: localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, the Cache API, and so on. This policy treats them all together.
Fair Divider does not use:
The Fair Divider website does use two optional analytics tools — Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity — to understand aggregate usage and improve the Service. The cookies they set are not strictly necessary: they are disabled by default and are stored only after you opt in through the consent chooser. You can withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of the Fair Divider app, and withdrawing is as easy as giving consent. These cookies are listed in section 3.4 (note that Microsoft Clarity may also set Microsoft-wide cookies, e.g. MUID, used across Microsoft services for analytics measurement — not for advertising targeting); the legal basis, processors (Google Ireland Limited and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited), international transfers and retention are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Every other cookie and storage entry we use is strictly necessary to provide the Service and is therefore exempt from prior consent under Article 22.2 LSSI-CE.

The cookies below are set only if you choose "Accept all" in the consent chooser. They are not set for visitors who choose "Essential only", and they stop being refreshed if you later withdraw consent via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of the Fair Divider app. Masking in Microsoft Clarity is set to Strict, so all text and form inputs are masked and no field content is captured.

Google and Microsoft act as our data processors for these cookies. Data may be processed outside the EEA under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Standard retention is approximately 14 months for Google Analytics and approximately 90 days for Microsoft Clarity. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Strictly necessary cookies and storage (sections 3.1–3.3) are exempt from prior consent under Article 22.2 LSSI-CE and the AEPD 2023 Cookie Guide, so they load without asking. Before you use the Service we also show a one-time legal-notices acceptance prompt, recorded in the fd-accepted cookie.
Because the website also offers optional analytics (section 3.4), we present a consent chooser on your first visit. You can choose "Accept all" (strictly necessary + analytics) or "Essential only" (strictly necessary only); analytics stays off unless you opt in. Your choice is stored in the fd-analytics entry and can be changed at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of the Fair Divider app (the calculator pages) — withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
