Free, with nothing to sign up for. Available on the website and through the iOS and Android apps, which use the same service.
The result is approximate, never mathematically exact. It is a mathematical tool, not legal or financial advice, and it cannot promise that everyone ends up happy or that a disagreement is settled.
We are not liable for what you decide with it. To the fullest extent the law allows, Fair Divider is not responsible for indirect or consequential damage arising from use of the Service, including financial decisions taken on the strength of a result. Section 6 sets out the limit in full.
Use it for what it is for. No offensive content in names or descriptions, no attacks or attempts to flood the service, and no reaching into sessions that are not yours.
Spanish law applies, without prejudice to the consumer protection your own country gives you. Questions go to [email protected].

This summary is not the agreement. The numbered sections below are what governs; where the two differ, they prevail.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Fair Divider (the "Service"), available at fairdivider.com and through mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Fair Divider is a free fair division calculator that produces envy-free allocations. The Service allows users to divide rent, expenses, goods, or other items among multiple participants. Available in standalone mode (single device), multi-device mode (multiple devices, real-time), and through native iOS and Android apps that connect to the same backend API.

3. No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Specifically:

Results are approximate and are never mathematically exact.
Fair Divider does not guarantee that results will satisfy all participants or resolve disputes.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Multi-device sessions require an active internet connection.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Not enter offensive, abusive, or illegal content in participant names or descriptions.
Not attempt to disrupt the Service through automated scripts, flooding, or attacks.
Not attempt to access other users' sessions without authorization.
Use the Service for its intended purpose of fair division calculation.

5. Intellectual Property

The Fair Divider name, design, and software implementation are the property of the developer. The underlying mathematical principles are public domain mathematics.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fair Divider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including financial decisions made based on results or disputes between participants. The Service is a mathematical tool, not legal or financial advice.

7. Session Data

Division sessions are temporary: the division itself is dropped from server memory after 24 hours of inactivity, and a multi-device room is deleted 7 days after it is created. Save or screenshot results if you need a permanent record.

8. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes shall be subject to the courts of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions in your jurisdiction.
